Gar Alperovitz: Can Cooperative Workplaces Save America's Economy?

Cooperative future

This is good news. Cooperative ownership and organization can be adapted to many situations, communities, businesses and enterprises. I helped start a food co-op twelve years ago that is going strong today. Members love the sense of ownership they get in having their own store, and the feeling that we're creating an alternative of our own design. Also, there is a diverse membership, people who might not have much to do with each other in other realms of life but who find common ground centered on good food at fair prices.
