While I am all for any two people getting married and feel we are all equal, we do need to remember that it was the Defense of Marriage Act that was used by preachers to convince the flocks to vote for W. five years ago. While those additional four years of W. helped bring Obama's victory, they cost us more than any four years in the history of our country. We liberals are predisposed to try to do as much as possible for everyone. I do think we need to pick our priorities. Universal healthcare will benefit everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, so in a sense it is both a straight and gay issue. Ending the war, lowering our carbon footprint and dependence on foreign oil and getting the economy going will, as well.
