I've read most of Greene, little of his biographers and interpreters. Enough of the latter, however, to marvel at the fictional character Graham Greene would have made and, I would suggest, has become.

My reading load is too heavy to undertake the Graham Greene Epic. One might revise the title: "Not Easy Reading Other People's Greene." I'll content myself, at my advanced age, with an occasional rereading of one of his ambiguous novels, and wonder if it is I who have changed, or if it has independently reversed its meaning.
