The NRA’s responses to gun violence and the ease of access to lethal weapons have been predictable and consistent in their frigidity. Though the organization did release a tepid statement following last week’s string of shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Falcon Heights, Minnesota; and Dallas, Texas, its executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre, however, has not spoken publicly himself.
