I believe the author couldn't have described better the moral conflict that Zionism now and, ultimately, Israel represents. As it exists now, as the author so well describes, the security the Israeli cause has so adamantly pursued for its people is as tenuous as it was in 1948--perhaps even more so now. Her title focuses on its potential salvation: going secular and transitioning to a real democracy, winning hearts in the Middle East better than its current defiant policy will ever do. Thankfully she adds another brave voice to others surfacing with the same sane, humane solution. The next step? Real leadership to carry it out. Perhaps Bill Clinton and Tony Blair, who helped broker the now successful Belfast Peace Agreement?
