That's a real nice piece you have there. You just missed two critical pieces of information:

1. Erik Prince is bankrolled by Amway--"now you know" Amway--which needs to partake in more responsibility.

2. Erik Prince--are you ready for this--is next-door neighbor to Donald Rumsfeld. Check the information: Right next to Holland, Michigan, there is a private enclave. Amway Erik Prince and Donald Rumsfeld are neighbors, as was that administrations chief of the army, who happens to be very good friends with Condi Rice. It all seems a wee bit too cozy.

Journalism, journalism. Come on, Nation. You can do it.

If this article is true... I am absolutely shocked! If all what is described is true, then all Central Asian republics should close down US bases and the US government should get the hell out of Central Asia! We dont want our countries to be raped by US private killers as in Iraq. Already one Kyrgyz citizen, Ivanov, was killed in the Manas base in Kyrgyzstan and his killers escaped from justice back to home in US. The US became a fascist, Nazi state, when compared to Russia, which looks really like an angel... US government official should be tried like Hitler's regime by the international tribunals!

Eric (The Evil) prince is nothing but a piece of Xian crap! Both the Prince and De Vos families are nothing but Xian wackos hellbent on forcing their worthless Calvinist views on everyone else. It's time to throw Prince into the prison where he can become someone else's prison bitch and know what it feels like to be raped!

These people make me want to puke! Blackwater is, for all practical purposes, nothing more than a bunch of cowards and criminals some who are obviously religious wackos like Palin. We don't need them. Period.

Anybody who supports this murderous, child-molesting, raping, treasonous bunch needs to be tried along with them. The Prince and DeVos family can go to hell for all I care.

Prince, yer time is over. If Washington won't do anything about you, we will. Better start checking yer "6." All hail thermal expansion!

It seems to me that we can learn something from things that the Does did not say. Neither of them ever said anything abour the Masonic organization. Can anyone confirm or deny that any or all of these men, both the accusers and the accused are Masons?

By what journalistic standard does one report hearsay and unsubstantiated claims from two individuals and then weave them into a story that supposedly shows a history of abuses? I am sorry but, this article is little more than speculation. When it comes to the discussion of private security companies, many times people become emotionally irrational and jump to conclusions. Let's separate the emotion from this debate and look at the facts. So far, in regards to these claims as well as many claims in the past there really hasn't been much in the way of any actual tangible proof of any major wrongdoing or habitual offenses performed by this company and/or its founder. No company is perfect, and I have seen substantiation to show that they have employed some individuals that may have turned out to be a bit overzealous, however that does not a criminal enterprise make. Lets not be so hasty to burn them at the stake until we see some actual facts.

As far as the topic of private security contractors goes, PSCs have garnered a fairly irrational level of distrust and hatred by certain demographics of the population. Much of this is, in my opinion, due to stories such as the one of topic that continually print unsubstantiated conjecture and hearsay. What we need to do is completely separate emotions from this debate and look at the facts. The facts are that there are needs out there for some very specialized personnel to deal with specialized tasks such as diplomatic security. While there are divisions of the US military, DOD, and other federal organizations that do have some specialized personnel for these purposes, the manpower is extremely limited. The basics are, you have a high demand and limited personnel. Federal organizations are not meeting the demand, and the manpower has to come from somewhere. The private sector is able to fill that need, and in many ways can do so more cost effectively and to a higher level of quality. It really is as simple as classic supply versus demand. I would implore those of you out there that consider yourselves journalists to raise your standards significantly higher than the abysmal depths to which they have sunken over the past few decades.

LeMas ammunition, while not used by the military, doesn't "explode." It's simply standard hunting ammunition as used by prairie dog hunters, repackaged for police and security use. While awfully effective on those huge rodents, it's effectiveness on human beings doesn't seem to be all that much better than the stuff the Army issues.

How sad that no one taught Erik Prince, when he decided to join the Catholic Church after a life's formation as an evangelical, that the church rightly calls the fact and use of all nuclear weapons an "intrinsic evil"; that it calls nationalism idolatry; that it is not an Americanist or American church; that it is unequivocally opposed to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; that it asks its adherents to either follow the pacifism of Christ and the Early Church or the Just War doctrine of Augustine; and that it sides with the poor, the violated, the immigrant and the unwanted. How sad that he continues the sick, lying work of invoking faith when what he means is empire. What familiar, murderous folly. For shame.

While Scahill's findings may be riveting and explosive, this whole affair will fizzle out and nothing will come of his superb investigation. The Justice Department will rattle the pans and make a lot of noise but in the end, nothing will come of this case, like so many others (Gitmo) they have failed to act on since taking over the reins.

Your story indicated that the number of private armies are increasing under Obama. Prince's private army is the only game in town and he seems to have a monopoly on this business. You even state that he is protecting Hillary Clinton and the rest of the US Diplomats overseas. At the same time you covered a story about the number of soldiers in the US Military who are refusing to go. So you have a declining civilian army. Who else, might I ask, is going to fight this dirty, unjust war?

In the end Prince and Obama are in the same league--the good ol' boy league. For all his chanting about change, Obama isn't going to change anything because part of his role is to protect the good ol' boys, of which he is one.

I am not at all surprised by the allegations about the founder of Blackwater. (I read the excellent book by the author of this article.) I wonder if he will get his just deserts, however. Aren't the Bushes related to an Ellis family? Like the Ellises that were involved in the Riggs Bank scandal of a few years ago? The same scandal that was linked to the BCCI scandal, which was, of course, linked to Mena, AR and Promis and the rest of the entire concatenation of unrequited evil that has put this nation and the world in the mess that it is in now?

Perhaps it is time to declare a moratorium on secrets of any kind--- from UFOs to "economic warfare" fought by our "intelligence" services. We need the truth about everything at this point. If the judge in the Prince case is related to the Bushes, then he needs to recuse himself immediately.
