For years, Rupert Murdoch’s British News of the World tabloid has hacked into private phone messages in order to mine for content. Recently, a scandal erupted after the tabloid erased messages from a kidnapping victim’s phone, leading her parents to falsely believe that she was still alive.

Nation contributor Illyse Hogue joins Chris Hayes on MSNBC’s The Last Word to discuss whether or not this British scandal could topple Murdoch’s infamous empire in the United States.
