In the second of a three-part debate with Lawrence Korb, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, The Nation‘s Katrina vanden Heuvel discusses whether more US troops in Afghanistan will stabilize or hurt Pakistan. Citing the resurgence of Al Qaeda and the mobility of the Taliban in the border regions of the country, vanden Heuvel asks why the US wants to target Afghanistan exclusively and says a comprehensive diplomatic and economic approach will best stabilize the region.
