Bush Parody: Swing ‘Em Home

Bush Parody: Swing ‘Em Home

Unlike Bush, these guys are determined to play golf as often as possible to support our soldiers overseas.

Swing ‘Em Home, a group dedicated to “golfing to bring home the troops,” rejects Bushs’ vow to quit golfing out of respect for the soldiers in Iraq. “I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf,” Bush told Mike Allen in an interview in May. The Swing ‘Em Home guys refuse to thank the troops for fighting for their freedom by neglecting to enjoy their freedom to play golf. So they adamantly express their hatred for the war and terrorists with each swing, and every hole has become a true “mission accomplished” for men who golf for the troops.

From illegal war on Iran to an inhumane fuel blockade of Cuba, from AI weapons to crypto corruption, this is a time of staggering chaos, cruelty, and violence.

Unlike other publications that parrot the views of authoritarians, billionaires, and corporations, The Nation publishes stories that hold the powerful to account and center the communities too often denied a voice in the national media—stories like the one you’ve just read.

Each day, our journalism cuts through lies and distortions, contextualizes the developments reshaping politics around the globe, and advances progressive ideas that oxygenate our movements and instigate change in the halls of power.
