The current dance with all of the Republican pretenders to the nomination can only lead to one logical conclusion. The GOP wants a deadlocked convention so the powers that be in that party can pick a candidate that the base is truly comfortable with. That will allow the ultimate nominee to skate through the primaries unscathed. At their convention, they will have no other option than to turn to Governor Christie and he will drop his faux declination “in a New Jersey minute.”
