Insofar as "we" white males are concerned, it's a choice between McCain and Palin continuing Bush's policies and screwing everyone, "us" included, or Obama screwing "us" specifically, pursuing "redistributive change" as an outgrowth of the "civil rights" movement. Given the context, both of what he should be taken to have meant by "civil rights movement" and his career to this point, from whom and to whom exactly should we expect Obama to "redistribute"?

All the sophomoric platitudes and labels aren't going to solve the deep hole we have managed to dig for ourselves. Socialist= Europe, Marxist= China. They all seem to be cleaning our clock right now. China is growing at a 17-plus percent rate while we can't even maintain a 1 percent rate. We have simply deindustrialized the country and consumed ourselves into bankruptcy. We have deregulated gluttony, and now we all wonder how the millionaires became billionaires and gave them $700 billion dollars to go out and get $1,000 massages. Now I hear them screaming for more via old rusty-brain John. More tax breaks for the wealthy, so they can create jobs for Chinese.

What upsets me even more is that we will probably elect ol' John and Ms. Wasilla, Alaska. These two characters sharing the nuclear trigger really scares the bejesus out of me.
