I am thinking unprintable thoughts! I have been writing endlessly about how we once had an independent national economy that was designed to supply our basic needs, and provide for the common defense. It was behind a wall of tariffs that we built our industrial base. This industrial base would eventually, help supply the jobs, that until NAFTA, supported 70 percent of our consumer-driven economy. You don't need a degree in economics to understand the macro elements of development.
