Phil Donahue, as far as I can tell, is an ideologue, meaning that he is set in his beliefs, right or wrong. What I find offensive about the man is his lack of character. He deliberately became the dupe of Senator Charles Schumer one day on the Phil Donahue Show when he, dare I say it, ambushed, a guest from the NRA. The two hosts, as it were, cross-fired the victum, and it certainly was not a fair discussion of the issues. It is this kind of technique that is propagandistic in nature and anything but a fair debate, and it caused me to lose respect for the man, who I had formerly believed to be an honest human being. Well, another hero bites the dust. It is hard to believe in anybody nowadays. Lesson learned.
