Unpacking boxes filled with Dari and Pashtu translations of the Bible, the American soldiers in this video go around the military law that prohibits proselytizing by calling the Bibles “gifts.” The footage, obtained and aired by Al Jazeera, raises questions about the growing influence of evangelical Christianity in the armed forces and the perception in the Muslim world of the United States as imperialists engaging in a religious war.
