On Monday, January 31, protesters took to Egypt’s streets for a seventh day, demanding an end to President Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year reign. The broad coalition of students, labor activists, lawyers, intellectuals and Islamists behind the unrest is now calling for a massive protest in Cairo for Tuesday and the Egyptian military has announced that it has ruled out the use of force against protesters.
“This is not Hosni Mubarak’s Egypt anymore," says Sharif Kouddous, reporting from Cairo. "And no matter what happens next, it will never be again.”
