For a long time, it was always a good bet that if your grandfather made his living growing corn in a field, your granddaughter would be able to do the same. But because of the extreme weather events that climate change is already causing, 350.org’s Bill McKibben says, “that’s just a sucker’s bet now.” Today’s corporate agriculture has wreaked havoc on the environment, depleting soil with intensive farming techniques and releasing massive amounts of greenhouse emissions in the process. Is a more sustainable future possible for farming?
