What’s Going On?

We are one week away from the beginning of Donald Trump’s presidency and the fight against his scary, damaging agenda has already begun. People across the country demonstrated against his cabinet picks this week and hundreds of thousands are expected at the Women’s March on Washington on the 21st. And this weekend, there are two sets of rallies scheduled in cities across the country.

What Can I Do?

First, on Saturday, January 14, immigrants and their allies will rally at cities coast to coast to stand against excessive criminalization, mass deportations, and intolerance. Given Trump’s hateful rhetoric about immigrants and promise to deport millions, building power to protect immigrant communities will be one of the most important things we can do during his presidency. You can find an event in your area here and follow the rallies on Twitter using the hashtag #HeretoStay.

Secondly, this Sunday, January 15, following a call to action by Senator Bernie Sanders, people nationwide will rally to tell Republicans that they will not get away with taking away our health care. You can read more and find a rally near you here and follow the rallies on Twitter using the hashtag #OurFirstStand.
