You may never have heard of True the Vote, but the organization has major plans for upcoming elections across the country. In this episode of Nation Conversations, Brentin Mock, lead reporter for Voting Rights Watch, an investigative partnership between The Nation and Colorlines, sat down with executive editor Richard Kim to explain how a Houston Tea Party group has grown into a vast effort to monitor polling stations nationwide. Mock explains that the group "really set an agenda in which they are purporting to protect the rights of minorities, [but] they have been accused, in some cases very understandably, of being racist and of trying to block the rights of African Americans, Latino Americans, voters of color." Listen to the full conversation for how the group works, and read Mock's article in this week's issue for more.
