The only alternatives considered by J. Lester Feder are the Obama proposal and Sen. Baucus's bill. Whatever happened to the Canadian-style single-payer plan? The Canadian system covers everybody and costs about half as much as we are paying now. So we get national health care and save money too.

The debate that agitates Lester Feder is about whether $900 billion or $1 trillion is enough or too much, on top of what we are already paying.

The Canadian style plan has been almost completely blacked out by the big corporate mass media. So why is The Nation joining them?

Selling the average family on paying for subsidies up to $88,000 for a family is ridiculous. No wonder the Obama coalition is collapsing!
