Labor's Legacy > Letters

Web Letter

Let's face it, labor's legacy is nothing but slow-motion failure. Big unions have become big business and have forgotten about their members. They are too interested on collecting income from their healthcare funds, their retirement funds and myriad boards and titled positions. They even have representation on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, last I looked.

And just what is the author talking about working on with Obama? Card Check has been checked out of the agenda. Rising-star SEIU president Andy Stern is a bought-and-paid for hack that sat in on the healthcare negotiations that refused a seat for single-payer. All the issues they say they care about are being neglected as they pay homage to Obama and collect their featherbed income.
