Sara B. Franklin is a writer, teacher, and mother. She is a professor of oral history, writing, and food studies at NYU Gallatin and at Wallkill Correctional Facility via the NYU Prison Education Program. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, LitHub, and Travel & Leisure. Franklin is the editor of Edna Lewis: At the Table with An American Original and co-author of The Phoenicia Diner Cookbook. Her third book, The Editor: How Publishing Legend Judith Jones Shaped Culture in America, will be published by Atria in May of 2024; research for that project was supported by a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars fellowship. Franklin lives with her twin children in Kingston, N.Y.
