Abusive treatment, coerced confessions, and deprivation of counsel and parental contact—at any one time, hundreds of kids are in lockup in violation of basic human rights.
The grounds for it are baseless, and many of the legislators pushing it are themselves under indictment for serious crimes.
As the human rights situation has deteriorated, US military aid has ramped up.
