In a fiery keynote at Netroots Nation 2011 in Minneapolis, activist Van Jones called for a renewed progressive movement that will end the "two-year unmitigated smear campaign" against the left. The time is now, Jones said, to boldly tell conservatives "these are our values; don’t you mess with our values; don’t you tell us no more we don’t love our own country; you don’t know this country."

Jones concludes his address with a call for a politics based on love and a challenge to Fox News’s Glenn Beck to debate him "anytime, anywhere." So far, Beck has refused to meet with Jones.
