According to Washington, the crisis of the hour is the debt ceiling. According to ordinary Americans, the crisis is unemployment. While Washington is ensnared in a political conundrum of a House unwilling to compromise and a president all too willing to sell out, Americans are fighting a familiar fight for a basic income.
