Leave it to The Simpsons to take an abysmal voting rights
scenario and make it hilarious, disturbing, and ripe with social commentary. In this clip Homer tries to use an electronic voting machine to vote for Barack Obama, but the machine will not record his vote correctly. Homer screams “This doesn’t happen in America! Maybe in Ohio, but not in America!” His cries are to no avail though—the more upset he becomes, the more votes the maniacal machine gives to McCain.
