The Washington Post‘s Juliet Eilperin talks to The Nation about climate change legislation, its chances in Congress and its impact on the future, both political and otherwise. Eilperin notes that the farming community and manufacturing interests will both look for concessions in the climate bill, and that it will be hard to get an effective bill through the Senate. Going forward, Eilperin notes, the future of climate change legislation and treaties will be shaped by politics on the ground in the US, and right now, this legislation will not do enough on its own to fight global warming.
