Jonathan Kozol

Jonathan Kozol is the National Book Award-winning author of Death
at an Early Age, Savage Inequalities and other books on
children in inner-city schools. He taught fifth grade for two years in Boston's suburban
interdistrict program, the longest-lasting voluntary integration effort
in the nation. Kozol
is the winner of the 2005 Puffin/Nation Prize for Creative Citizenship.
