Bergman served as the director of legislative affairs for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Executive Office of the President (1994-97) and as associate counsel to the Committee on Government Operations, US House of Representatives (1989-94) for Representative John Conyers. Currently she is the director of legislative affairs for the Research and Policy Reform Center, Inc.
