In a few days, Ohio voters are to vote on Issue 2, which would uphold Ohio’s Senate Bill 5—the anti-worker law passed earlier this year that prohibits public employees from collective bargaining. To get Issue 2 passed, the conservatives poured huge money into campaigning, and made sure that the largest number of voters possible wouldn’t even make it to the voting booths. Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted recently ordered early voting shut down on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This led protesters to gather in Toledo’s Early Voting Center on Saturday and Monday to protest this decision blocking voters from casting their ballots.

The Nation‘s John Nichols appeared on The Ed Show last night to talk about Republican voter suppression and its impact on Ohio’s labor relations and the 2012 presidential election.
