After years of unnecessary spending and tax cuts, Republican politicians are finally complaining about unfathomable amounts of debt. Ironically, progressives are quoting traditional enemies such as Ronald Reagan to support their reasoning on the debt ceiling while current Republican politicians demean these efforts at compromise.

The Nation‘s Ari Melber joined former Bush aide David Frum on MSNBC’s The Last Word to discuss this politics of bad faith.
