Congressman Jamie Raskin is one of the most engaged and effective proponents of real Democracy in Congress today. A former Constitutional law scholar, Raskin’s heroism at the center of the January 6 insurrection and brilliance in prosecuting President Trump in his second impeachment trial inspired a nation.

Not long ago, Raskin was largely unknown to voters outside of his suburban Maryland congressional district. But, in 2022, the three-term congressman has a new book that is currently No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list, and in March, Raskin will be helping lead nationally televised, prime-time hearings into the January 6 insurrection—in a moment with historic echoes of the Watergate scandal.

Raskin will be joining The Nation’s Editorial Director and Publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel and The Nation’s chief political correspondent John Nichols to talk about his book, the upcoming hearing and his priorities for 2022 in a wide-ranging discussion.

Join the conversation! There will be ample time devoted to audience questions and engagement. All proceeds directly support The Nation’s journalism. We hope you will join us! If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

Co-sponsored by The Institute for Policy Studies.
