Susan Stryker is the author, most recently, of Transgender History: The Roots of Today’s Revolution. She is a visiting professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at Yale University, founding co-editor of the academic journal TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, and co-director of the Emmy-winning documentary film Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria.
