R. O. Blechman’s career has spanned illustration, design, graphic novels, and filmmaking. Blechman was elected to the Art Directors Hall of Fame in 1999, and the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 2013. In the latter year he had an exhibition of his work in the Norman Rockwell Museum. In 2011 the National Cartoonists Society awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award. He has done 15 covers for The New Yorker, and his animated films were given a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in 2003. More of his work can be seen at roblechman.com.
