Rachel Ida Buff is a history professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her most recent book is Against the Deportation Terror: Organizing for Immigrant Rights in the 20th Century (Temple UP, 2017). She is the academic editor of the AAUP’s Journal of Academic Freedom. She is completing a novel about race, love and violence in the northern Midwest.
