Mario Gonzalez Chavajay is an internationally recognized artist from San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala. His grandfather started the rich tradition of “Art Naif” oil painting in the Tzutujil Mayan communities around Lake Atitlan. Mario is one of the few artists now carrying on this style. His work has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collection of the Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC.
