Kathy M. Newman

Newman is a professor of English and literary and cultural Studies at Carnegie Mellon University, where she teaches and writes about labor, class, film, and media. Newman is also a print and fiber artist who makes an annual holiday card that always has a political theme. Newman’s artistic work often draws from her knowledge of, and love of, various forms of viral media and popular representation. Newman lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, her two teenagers, and, hopefully, this year, a rescue dog.
