David Sandlin was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1956 and currently lives in New York, where he makes art and teaches at the School of Visual Arts.
He has exhibited extensively and his illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, Raw, and other publications. He has received fellowships and grants from the Guggenheim Foundation among many other institutions.
