Anne Balay is the higher-education organizer for SEIU Local 1 in Missouri, and the author of two books: Steel Closets: Stories of Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Steelworkers (2014) and Semi Queer: Inside with World of Gay, Trans, and Black Truck Drivers (2018).
