Bill Maher on Palin’s Debate, Bailout and McCain campaign

'The good news is Sarah Palin can complete a sentence. The bad news is we all have to listen to it.'

Bill Maher began his show Friday by debunking the notion that Sarah Palin exceeded expectations during the vice-presidential debate. “The good news,” he quipped, “is Sarah Palin can complete a sentence. The bad news is the rest of us have to listen to it.” Maher rejected the down home catch phrases, the much lauded folksy inflection, saying he pities “Joe Six-Pack Americans” because if Palin gets elected “Joe’s is gonna need a lot more than a six-pack, he’s gonna be Joe prescription drug-pack.” Maher also poked fun at the love affair conservative pundits seem to have with the Alaskan governor, ridiculing National Review editor Rich Lowry’s embarassing column about feeling aroused by Palin’s arsenal of winks and smiles. What’s a comedian to do with that kind of fodder? Maher of course edited a montage of Palin’s winks for his audience’s viewing pleasure.
