On Thursday, a federal court in Texas struck down a controversial new voter ID law that violated the Voting Rights Act, reported The Nation‘s Ari Berman, who has been following the nationwide push to curtail voting rights and discriminate against minority voters. He speaks with Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman about how voter fraud is a "phantom menace," how voting rights have been set back fifty years and how this might all just be a prelude to a Supreme Court challenge of the Voting Rights Act next year.
