Smith has been creating bold, politically charged collage art since the 1970s. Best known for his work with the Dead Kennedys, Smith designed the iconic “DK” emblem—now a global symbol of resistance to authoritarianism. His artwork has appeared on over 50 album covers, including for Green Day, Burning Brides, Ben Harper, and George Carlin. His illustrations have also been featured in The New Yorker, Playboy, Spin, and more.
