Author and activist Zephyr Teachout leads a discussion about why the Democratic Party must be as open and democratic as possible in the age of COVID-19. Teachout is a Nation editorial board member, an associate professor of law at Fordham University and the author of the new book Break ’Em Up: Recovering Our Freedom From Big Ag, Big Tech, and Big Money. Teachout has recently argued that we must be vigilant in the face of likely attempts by federal election boards to dramatically restrict ballot access rules giving Republicans an enormous advantage in November.
