Voting rights expert and senior reporter at Mother Jones Ari Berman will join Nation editorial director and publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel for a critical discussion about how to protect the right to vote in the most important election of our lifetimes.

Can the 2020 election be stolen? Will voter suppression affect the outcome? Berman discusses how voter suppression works and how it has impacted past electoral outcomes as well as the strategy behind President Trump’s attacks on the U.S. Postal Service and Trump’s threat to deploy armed agents at polling places.

Berman is a former senior contributing writer for The Nation. His seminal book, Give Us the Ballot: The Modern Struggle for Voting Rights in America, was published in 2015 by Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
