Permanent Minority

. Democratic State Representative Wes McKinley of Colorado recently cast the deciding vote against a Democratic landowner-rights bill that would have forced oil and gas companies to pay more for harming private property when they drill.

Toward the Majority

. Democrats and Progressives in the Vermont House joined to pass universal healthcare legislation over the strong objections of Republican legislators and the health insurance industry. The bill now moves to the Vermont Senate for consideration.
