As far as Wisconsin is concerned, the worst has happened—Scott Walker’s "union busting bill" has passed into law, meaning that collective bargaining is officially illegal in the state of Wisconsin. The law will make it much harder for union members to collect dues and represent themselves in both the workplace and in politics. The positive? Mass mobilization and internal organizing are at a historic all time high, making it difficult to disempower unions without substantial dissent.

In this video from Free Speech TV, John Nichols joins Laura Flanders at Netroots Nation to discuss political and digital organization, and a new group that he refers to as the "next roots"—the students, mothers and the once apolitical who are now mobilizing the entire movement.
