The Nation‘s DC editor appears on Morning Joe along with the New York Times‘s Andrew Ross Sorkin, David M. Walker, former head of the Government Accountability Office, and Christie Hefner of the Center for American Progress to discuss the effects of the deficit on the American economy. Hayes argues that the US deficit is manageable: “First of all: we throw around numbers like trillions, it’s actually, just, conceptually impossible to conceive of,” Hayes says. “We are well within a band where we can service our debt and are going to be [doing so] in the short term.”
