The ‘Reset’ of US-Russia Relations Lacks Substance

As President Obama ramps up his re-election campaign, he will likely tout the “reset” of US-Russia relations he helped engineer as one of his major foreign policy victories. But what this new partnership lacks is substance.

As The Nation’s Stephen Cohen explains on RTAmerica, the US continues to demonize Russia and to look at the country as less of a partner and more of a competitor. The only way to break away from this mindset is with strong leadership from Obama and a willingness to look at US-Russia relations anew.
