Maher says, 'If you describe [Palin] accurately, there's no way you can do that and not sound condescending.'

Bill Maher appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show last night to chat about the ailing economy, Phil Gramm and Sarah Palin’s readiness to be VP. Maher dismissed John McCain’s call for a 9/11 commission on the economy, calling such a move “counter-productive”. He also questioned McCain’s choices of economic advisors, saying the Republican candidate’s “number one”, Phil Gramm, worked to repeal the New Deal-era Glass-Steagall Act in the 1990s which Maher said “led the way for a lot of this meltdown to happen.” Maher also commented on Sarah Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson earlier this week, calling Pain “not very bright.” “That would be country first,” he sighed, “admitting that she is not ready for this.”
