Discover the extraordinary beauty and complex history of Armenia and Georgia – cultural and political crossroads spanning East and West. Both countries have had an outsized influence in shaping world events, and we’ll delve deeply into the past and present as we meet with journalists, academics, activists and cultural leaders to gain substantive insight into this truly unique corner of the world. Travel through breathtaking scenery and visit cultural gems as we explore the complex political and social issues facing the region, while enjoying the wonderful food and hospitality of its people. 

Highlights:

  • Attend a pre-departure call with Tbilisi-based journalist Joshua Kucera
  • Meet Christina Soloyan, a freelance journalist and editor/project coordinator with Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation, who will talk about the critical issues facing Armenia. 
  • Hear from Martan Marashlyan, Co-founder and Executive Director of Repat Armenia, an NGO that assists with the resettlement of Armenia by diaspora Armenians.
  • Experience dramatic landscapes and stunning ancient sites such as Geghard Monastery; Khor Virap, and Haghpat.
  • Attend a discussion with Brian Gigantino, a Tbilisi-based writer who focuses on Soviet history and post-Soviet politics.
  • Learn about Georgian wines during a lunch visit to a local winery.
