A new daily blog, covering the latest news and controversies across a wide range of races and issues. As the author of three books about influential political campaigns, I also bring a certain historical perspective to this very topical task. When I launched this blog this past Tuesday, I declared that it would appear every day, and most weekends (in the tradition of my WikiLeaks and Occupy blogs), from now until Election Day. This weekend I am traveling for a wedding, so instead of the usual array of items and links and videos, here’s just one fun (but compelling) bit: a “Hologram Obama” from Bill Maher’s HBO show Real Time last night—the candidate Mitt Romney and the GOP want voters to think they are running against.
Greg Mitchell’s campaign books include The Campaign of the Century (Upton Sinclair, 1934), Tricky DIck and the Pink Lady (Nixon-Douglas, 1950), and Why Obama Won.
